Comparison is a common human behavior. More often than not, we don’t realize we are doing it. I am guilty of this myself, and it’s really hard sometimes not to compare other people’s lives with my own.
As an individual, I find myself comparing myself more than any other way in my life. I compare my looks with others’, my lack of friends with others’ large amounts of friends, my talents with others’ talents, etc. It’s not something I like admitting, but I’m hoping that doing so to you will help me understand that I am not alone, and I’m sure that some of you feel this way too. It’s scary to jump out of your comfort zone, but I also know that doing so will strengthen me in ways I don’t yet understand. I have always struggled with personal comparison with others, and I don’t really know exactly how to rid that completely, so if you have any ideas or solutions, I’d love to hear what you have to say.
